Chris Dorich, Assistant Director of Admissions
Chris began his career in Utah working for Sperry-Univac, which is now L-3 Communications CS-West. He has also been the varsity soccer coach at Westminster College for 26 years. His favorite part about working with the admissions team is bringing in new students to earn a quality education at Westminster College. In his spare time, Chris enjoys coaching soccer and continuing his education because you are never too old to learn. His favorite spot on campus is the Dumke soccer field and his favorite local restaurant is Flemings Steak House.
David Robles, Freshman Admissions Counselor
David is from Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a Weber State University alumni and plans on earning a graduate degree from Westminster College. He is passionate about working as an Admissions Counselor because he loves to inspire students in any way possible. One of the greatest things he likes about working with students is the personal relationships. He believes that every student has the power to succeed as long as they have a support system. On his spare time, he likes to whitewater kayak, mountain bike, hike, camp, trail run, and do anything outdoors. He also loves soccer, which is why he attends every Real Salt Lake match during the season. His favorite place on campus is the HWAC (gym) and restaurant is Tres Hombres Mexican Grill & Cantina
Kelly Jerome, Freshman Admissions Counselor
Kelly was born and graduated High School in Utah, but between that time had the opportunity to move to a few different states including California, Texas, and Arizona. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Marketing, and returned to Salt Lake City to be closer to her family and take advantage of the mountains. A strong believer in higher education, Kelly loves working in admissions because it is something she is passionate about. She shares as much excitement about starting college as her students do, and enjoys helping them through the admissions process. Her favorite place on campus is the bridge overlooking Emigration Creek because it is beautiful no matter the time of year. In her spare time, Kelly likes to ski at Solitude and Park City, attend live music shows at Urban Lounge, and travel. Her favorite restaurants in town, although they change often, areSapa Sushi and Tony Caputo’s Deli.
Kristie Ross, Assistant Director for Events & Campus Visits
Kristie is born and raised in Upstate NY. She graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and completed a 3-1 Fashion Merchandising Management Associate’s Degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She earned her Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Canisius College as well. Kristie has only been in Utah (Salt Lake City) for a year and a half, but has enjoyed the various outdoor activities Utah has to offer. Her favorite part about being on the Admissions team is being able to coordinate events both on and off campus for prospective students, and helping high school students envision themselves as future college students here. She enjoys working out, traveling and spending time with friends & family. Her favorite restaurants in Salt Lake are Bombara and Takashi.
Leanna Kowallis, Associate Director of Admissions
Leanna grew up in Provo, UT and decided to stay close to home for college. She earned her Bachelors degree in English at Brigham Young University. Shortly after, she traveled to Washington, D.C. where she earned her Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University. Her favorite part of working for the admissions office is meeting so many great students on a daily basis. Her favorite spot on campus is the new Commons Area. In her spare time, Leanna enjoys cooking, playing tennis and volleyball, running, rock climbing, reading and traveling the globe.
Manny Villalobos, Assistant Director of Admissions
Born and raised in Utah, Manny graduated from Westminster in 2002. As an aviation admission counselor, he lives to fly. He enjoys taking prospective students out flying—seeing the look on their face, and all their fears, hopes and dreams coming out. The most rewarding part of his job is giving students a skill they’ll take with them forever. His favorite campus location is the Aviation Simulation & Testing Center. Aside from flying, Manny enjoys fishing, camping and playing basketball. The mountains are his favorite land location, because it’s an escape from the everyday norm. While in the air, he says it’s hard to pinpoint a favorite spot because it’s all so beautiful from above. As a self-proclaimed health nut, his favorite restaurants are Kneaders and Whole Foods. He also loves taking wheat grass shots.
Michael Swift, Aviation Admissions Counselor, Adjunct Professor
Mike is originally from Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Weber State University and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force through the University of Utah Air Force ROTC program. Mike spent 23 years on active duty where he was a navigator and bombardier on the B-52 bomber. In addition to this he was an instructor, staff officer and held numerous command positions. After living in 9 different states and moving over 33 times, he moved back to Utah in 2014 to once again be around family and the mountains. The things Mike enjoys the most about Westminster is its beauty and interacting with students. His favorite place on campus is the aviation simulator area in the Gore Business Building. Mike enjoys food from all around the world. In his spare time, he likes being in the outdoors, woodworking and flying remote controlled airplanes.
Mary Rendon, Transfer Admissions Counselor
Mary is originally from Burbank, California. She moved to Utah her sophomore year of high school and fell in love with Salt Lake City. She graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Political Science in 2013. Her favorite part about working with students is getting to help them through the sometimes overwhelming application process that she had to go through as an undergraduate. Her favorite place on campus is the Center for Civic Engagement in the Bassis Center for Student Learning. She enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, baking, and spending time with her husband and her dog. Her favorite places to eat in Salt Lake City are Tsunami and Oasis Café.
Quincey Malauulu Otuafi
Quincey is from Oceanside (San Diego), California. After doing two years at Palomar College in San Marcos, California, she moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah as a transfer student and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in International Relations with an emphasis in Language and Culture. She is passionate about higher education and loves working in admissions because of the relationships she is able to build with students to make the transition from High School to College as smooth as possible. Her favorite place on campus is Richer Commons because the surrounding trees create a peaceful ambiance and there’s almost always something fun going down in the Commonrs to get involved with. When Quincey isn’t working, you can probably catch her at local rugby events or hanging out with friends. Some of her favorite local restaurants are Sawadi and Oh Mai.
Rob A. Myers, Freshman Admissions Counselor
Rob Myers is originally from Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Public & Cultural Communication. He enjoys working in higher education and playing an integral role in getting new students enrolled and acclimated with Westminster College. His favorite spot on campus is the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts. In his spare time he travels cross country setting new dance works on studios and performance teams. He had the opportunity to be a featured dancer at Super Bowl XXXIII's pre-game and halftime festivities. Rob is still fairly new to Salt Lake, his favorite places to eat so far, are: Sapa and Mazza.
Trevor Beal, Freshman Admissions Counselor
Trevor is originally from Katy, Texas and graduated from Westminster with a B.S. in Psychology and was also a member of the college’s Honors Program. As a recruiter, Trevor enjoys getting to know his students, while helping them achieve their educational goals through all of the fantastic programs, internships, and study abroad opportunities that Westminster can provide. Trevor’s favorite spot on campus is Nunemaker Place, home of the Honors Program, where he can relax and read on the Lovesacs. Trevor enjoys spending time with friends, hitting the movies, and traveling. Trevor’s favorite local restaurant is either Sawadee, Bombay House, The Philadelphian, or Estee Pizza, depending on his mood and where he has traveled recently.
