BS Sociology

Richard Paff received his BS in sociology in 1967 and has since dedicated his life to education and improving the lives of others. In 2012, Dick received the Distinguished Alumni Award for his global humanitarian effort.  In 2008, Dick and his wife, Nancy traveled to Vietnam as a part of a volunteer organization called “Vets with a Mission.”  Since 1988, the organization has sent two teams a year on medical mission trips to serve poor areas of Vietnam. In 2010 Dick and two friends set out to raise funds to put a roof over the outdoor basketball court at New Dawning Christian School in San Juan la Laguna, located on the shores of Guatemala’s Lake Atitlan. Dick and his friends raised money and set a new world record for the fastest time to drive around the country and make a basket in each of the 48 contiguous states. Dick’s work with these various organizations showcase how Westminster’s dedication to social responsibility and global consciousness has impacted his life and many lives around the world.
