About Colleen Sandor
I came to Salt Lake City from Buffalo, New York in 1986 to pursue my graduate studies. While I was determined to stay only four years, the beauty of Utah and the outdoor opportunities has held me here much longer. I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Utah in 1996 in Counseling Psychology. I worked as a therapist at a private non-profit organization from 1991-2002 where I provided substance abuse treatment for adults. In 2002, I began teaching at Westminster. During this time, I completed advanced training in Object Relations Theory at the International Psychotherapy Institute in Chevy Chase, Maryland. I currently hold a faculty position in the local satellite of IPI in Salt Lake City. I regularly present clinical and theoretical papers based on Object Relations Theory and Practice to therapists in Salt Lake City and the Washington D.C. area. My hobbies include running and working out, cooking, and traveling. I also enjoy Scuba diving and any other activity that gets my adrenalin going! I am currently on the Board of Directors for the Rape Recovery Center and previously served on the Board of the Utah Chapter of the ACLU.
