  • About Chris Tong

Professor Chris Tong is the Director of International Relationship Development in the Division of New Learning at Westminster College.  Chris has a long history of developing relationships that greatly enhance the learning experiences of our graduating students, starting with a dual degree economics programs with Nankai University in Tianjin, China.  Chris has also played an important role in the development of Westminster's innovative project-based MBA programs, in which students work through real-world applied business projects to develop applied mastery of global business.  Chris developed relationships at Donghua University in Shanghai, China and at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China to deliver the project-based MBA at both locations, beginning in 2010.

According to Chris, the most important aspect of international relationships is, "the relationship must enhance learning opportunities such that our graduating students leave with a far greater ability to operate in a truly global society."  Chris also leads the Center for China-America Business Studies at Westminster College, an office that supports learners going to and from China.

Chris has been at Westminster for twelve years, arriving in 2001.  Prior to 2001, Chris was a professor at Hong Kong Baptist University for ten years in Kowloon, Hong Kong.  Chris received his Ph.D. in 1991 from the University of Utah.  Chris deeply understands how the Westminster experience impacts its graduate - he is an alumnus, having graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in 1986.
