  • About Karnell R. Black

    Karnell Black serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at Westminster College and has been with the College since July of 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and completed his Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago. Karnell coordinates a number of residential academic initiatives, including the medical withdrawals process, New Student Convocation, and Commencement. His supervisory portfolio includes the following departments: Student Involvement, Leadership, & Orientation, the Counseling Center, the Diversity & Inclusion Center, Residence Life, and Spiritual Life.  Additionally, Karnell serves as a Board Member for the Association for Orientation, Transition, & Retention in Higher Education (NODA) and the Programming Advisor to the Gamma Beta Chapter of Beta Theta Phi at the University of Utah. Karnell’s areas of expertise include: student engagement, student support services, and retention and persistence programming.
