Art Frequently Asked Questions

 

What is the average class size?

Drawing and painting classes have an average of 12 students. Photography classes average around 10 students, and pottery classes usually have 12-14 students.

What type of facilities are available to art students?

Art classes such as figure painting or drawing are held in one of the two art studios in the historic Converse Hall. Photography classes are taught in a state-of-the-art traditional and digital photo lab. Ceramics classes are held in the fabulous the Dolores Dore Eccles Ceramics Center.

Does the Art Program offer night classes for non-traditional students?

Yes, we offer a limited selection of night classes for those working around a challenging schedule. 

What are special topic classes?

Special topic classes are offered to help broaden the range of mediums available to students, such as: Experimental Photography; Landscape Painting; Primitive Pottery; Printmaking; and Earthworks of the American West.
