Thanksgiving Break

Those students staying in campus housing over Thanksgiving need to be aware that the Bon Appetit Dining and Food Services will be closed from Tuesday, November 26 at 8:00 p.m. until Sunday December 1 at 10:00 am when the café will re-open with regular hours.

Winter Break and Housing Closure For Winter Break

Students need to be checked out of the residential halls 24 hours after their last final.  The check out procedure consists of unplugging all appliances (you do not need to unplug your refrigerator if you live in apartment-style housing, Century, Villa Darvi, the Draw or the houses), locking all doors and windows, and removing all trash from your rooms (fridges included). The Resident Advisors will conduct health and safety inspections of each room and will check to make sure this procedure was followed. The residential halls close at noon on Saturday, December 14.  Halls will re-open Saturday, January 4, 2014 at noon.  There are no exceptions for earlier returns.  Your student should not forget anything over the break when they leave for the holidays. The halls are locked and access to rooms will be unavailable.

Room Changes

If students are considering a change in rooms/roommates, they need to come by the Office of Residence Life no later than December 2nd.  If given approval to switch rooms, they must check out of their old room and check into their new room with their RA(s). Room changes MUST occur before students leave for Winter Break. All room changes must be approved by Residence Life staff and will incur a $25 administrative fee.

Book your airline tickets home now

Students should all know their final exam schedules so they can book their flight home. Remember, students must leave within 24 hours of their last exam and cannot return before January 4, 2014 at noon. Please make travel arrangements that fit this schedule. Airport shuttle vans to and from the College will be coordinated with the Dean of Students Office. Your student should keep an eye on their email for more information.
