Presidential Ambassadors

Westminster College Presidential Ambassadors
2014-2015

The Presidential Ambassadors Program provides opportunities for a select group of students chosen for their enthusiasm and college engagement to host important college guests and to participate in a wide array of college and alumni events. To be selected as a Presidential Ambassador is a great honor that recognizes these students’ outstanding personal and leadership skills and provides them with extraordinary networking and social opportunities and experiences.

BROOKE BELLOWS
Nursing
Conifer, Colorado
Brooke has served as a resident advisor at Westminster and enjoys volunteering at local hospitals. When Brooke is not in class or a hospital clinical, she enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, or hanging around Sugarhouse with friends. Brooke also loves to travel whenever she gets the chance.

 

MICHAEL CALACINO
Theatre Performance
Grand Junction, Colorado
Michael is a junior in the BFA Theatre Performance program. He has been in shows such as Noises Off as Gary, Victor/Victoria as King Marchan, and Oedipus the King as Creon. He works with the Westminster Theatre Society, Theatre Department, and alumni to develop the group, Friends with Courage, which connects the Westminster theatre community with alumni, through theatre education and community service. Michael also enjoys singing, dancing, hiking, and mountain biking.

 

ALICIA FOSTER
Psychology (Brain and Behavior concentration) Minors: Applied Math, Spanish *Honors degree
Penryn, California

In addition to concentrating on brain and behavior as a psychology major, Alicia is in the Honors Program and minors in mathematics and Spanish. Alicia is a resident advisor and a tour guide at Westminster. She is also president of the Christian Club on campus and volunteers time serving her church community. Alicia loves spending time outdoors and watching baseball games, and she has a passion for traveling the world.

 

JOSHUA GOLDSMITH
Marketing
Salt Lake City

Joshua transferred to Westminster College from another small college out of state. In addition to supporting Admissions for the Gore School of Business, Joshua also spends his time gaining real world experience through marketing internships with University of Utah Healthcare and currently, Mark Miller Subaru. When Joshua isn’t involved on campus or working at his internship he enjoys golfing, skiing, and anything in the outdoors.

 

ELHOM GOSINK
Political Science with International Relations focus
San Diego, CA

Elhom is involved in the Honors program on campus as well as a Communications minor.  Elhom is also an elementary school tutor at local Hawthorne Elementary, co-coordinator of an East High School College Mentoring program, and a Peer Mentor on Westminster campus.  Elhom hopes to attend law school after graduation and work in international politics.  She enjoys being kept busy with her classes and work, but during her free time Elhom enjoys dance, good books, and baking.

SARAH HIRNING
Marketing and Economics

Sarah serves as the Special Events Chair on the Student Activities Commission as well as being a Student Admissions Representative. She enjoys trail running, skiing, and exploring Utah’s wilderness whenever she has the opportunity. Upon graduation Sarah would like to work for an ad agency and also be involved with humanitarian work. She is grateful for the various ways she represents Westminster and is excited to continue and expand her involvement throughout the college.

 

JANE JERMAN
Communications
Spring Creek, Nevada

Jane is a sophomore and is very passionate about Westminster. As a Student Senator, Jane works as the chairman of the Student Initiatives Committee in ASWC’s Senate. She is also a Resident Advisor and a yoga instructor in the Health and Wellness Center. In her free time, Jane loves to travel or relax at Sugarhouse Coffee with a cup of hot tea. She can’t wait to continue pursuing her education as a Griffin and share everything she loves about Westminster College.

 

SIERRA KANE
Business Management
Salt Lake City, Utah
Along with studying Spanish and Gender Studies as minors, Sierra is also working towards a Business Management major as well as an Honors Degree.  In addition to her studies, Sierra is involved with Westminster’s Delta Mu Delta chapter, the Judicial Council, and “Westminster Thinks Big.”  Outside of the classroom, Sierra has a passion for competing on Quarter horses, spending time in Southern Utah, and practicing her Spanish any chance she gets.

 

BIBEK NEUPANE
Economics & Theatre
Jhapa, Nepal
Bibek is an actor and a stage manager and has been involved in various theatre shows at Westminster. He works closely with the Diversity Center as a Resident Advisor of a Diversity Floor in a residence hall on campus. Bibek is a student assistant in the Center of Financial Analysis, and in Information Services. Bibek has worked as a Learning Community Peer Mentor, a student instructor and a mentor for the WeCan Mentoring Program for young people at risk. A proud Griffin, he is very grateful for the scholarships that enable him to be at Westminster. Bibek enjoys soccer, cricket, basketball, movies, TV and the outdoors.

 

MEGAN PETERS
Marketing & Film Studies
Monument, Colorado

Megan serves as the President of the Inter-Club Council and serves as a Student Mentor, Honors Peer Mentor, and Griffin Orientation Leader. She also serves in the community on the board of The Mundi Project, a non-profit dedicated to providing youth access to pianos. Her favorite things include watching old musicals and drinking good coffee.

 

PRATIK RAGHU
Critical Subaltern Studies 
Chennai, India

Pratik works as a Writing Center consultant and research assistant and is in the Westminster Honors Program. A former ASWC Senator, Student Activities Commission Chair, and co-organizer of the Obama 2012 campaign at Westminster, he hopes to use his customized major to pursue a PhD in South Asian studies. He enjoys watching and playing soccer, cooking, cartooning, traveling, and reading in his spare time.

 

SATHYA RIVAS
Social Psychology
San Antonio, TX

Sathya has served as a Griffin Orientation leader for the past two years. She is actively involved with the African-American Intellectual Union, and is a manager of the Lady Griffins basketball team. She is very active in promoting cultural diversity awareness within the college and in the community. She enjoys showing off her Griffin pride by attending as many sporting events as she can.
