The BFA in Theatre performance is designed to provide extensive training in voice, speech, and movement, along with the tools needed to prepare for a professional career as an actor. Performance requirements help shape and provide valuable experience to the aspiring actor. Advanced courses focus on career preparation, industry networking, and audition techniques. The BFA in Theatre Performance integrates classical and contemporary play performance with musical theatre, acting, voice, movement and dance. Distinctive training includes private voice lessons and small class sizes of an 11 to 1 ratio. Students can expect one-on-one training with industry professionals to hone individual potential. In addition to the strong fulltime faculty, the Department of Theatre regularly hires guest artists and other visiting professionals to direct productions and teach workshops. An audition conducted in the sophomore year of study is required for admission into the BFA in Performance.
