About Chris Quinn
Christopher Quinn earned a D.M.A. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder and was hired by Westminster College in 1994 to direct the music program. Under his leadership, the music program enjoyed tremendous growth and success. Dr. Quinn teaches music theory and directs the Westminster Chamber Singers.
He co-produced a Music Department CD in 1998 and his performance of "Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue" with the Joe Muscolino Band received critical acclaim. More recently, the Chamber Singers were invited to be a representative of the State of Utah in performances at the Nation's Capital Bicentennial Celebration in Washington, D.C. The Chamber Singers also performed in an episode of "Touched By An Angel" with soprano, Charlotte Church. In the spring of 2002, the Chamber Singers debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where they performed under the direction of John Rutter.
Dr. Quinn hails from the Boston area where he taught at Springfield College and Westfield State College throughout the 1980's. In addition to teaching and performing, Dr. Quinn was the Director of the Community Music Program at Westfield State College and the Director of Music at the MacDuffie School in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Quinn and his family are enjoying every aspect of the West.
