Description:

This part-time position will schedule Flight Operations Center resources, work closely with aviation students, faculty, and staff, provide information to callers, track student information, and otherwise relieve officials of clerical work and administrative business details.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Answer phones, direct calls, take messages, and monitor radio frequencies at dispatch desk. Word processing, Excel spreadsheet, and other software, as required for correspondence, information tracking, scheduling, billing, and other assignments. • Schedule and track resources—students, airplanes, flight simulators, aviation staff, and instructors. • Maintain accurate and timely billing information. • Monitor student and instructor flight accounts. • Maintain accurate student and staff records (training, graduation, and contact information). • Coordinate maintenance needs with Maintenance Technicians. • Update white board with accurate tach times/maintenance information. • Know and implement pilot/airplane requirements and limitations as well as dispatch procedures to comply with FAA and TSA security requirements. • Prepare solo and course completion certificates for flight students. • Assist in the ordering of office and flight supplies, and maintain efficient and accurate inventories. • Create and assemble custom flight kits—update custom flight kit inclusions at the beginning of every academic year. • Track & monitor instructor and student special training requests. • Assist in planning and managing aviation trips and events. • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Interest in aviation and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Prefer at least one year’s experience in a collegiate flight training program as an employee or student. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
