Westminster Students to Learn from O.C. Tanner CEO Kent Murdock as Executive-in-Residence
Salt Lake City-Feb. 20, 2004-Westminster College welcomes Kent H. Murdock, president and chief executive officer of O.C. Tanner Company as Executive-in-Residence. While visiting the college March 1, 2004, he will address students in Strategic Management and Business and Entrepreneurship classes. Murdock's visit to Westminster will allow students to interact with a prominent and established leader in the corporate world.
Murdock joined O.C. Tanner as president in 1991, and was elected CEO in 1997. In addition to his responsibilities as a director of the O.C. Tanner Company, Murdock serves as a trustee of the Tanner Lectures on Human Values, a trustee of the Tanner Charitable Trust, and a member of the board of the Obert C. and Grace A. Tanner Humanities Center at the University of Utah.
As a prominent and active community leader, Murdock is a member of the Intermountain Health Care board of trustees and the Wells Fargo Salt Lake Community Board. He formerly served as president of the University of Utah College of Law Alumni Association, president of the Utah Traveler's Aid Society board of trustees and as vice chair of the board of governors of the Greater Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining O.C. Tanner, Murdock was a trial lawyer and partner in the Salt Lake City firm of Ray Quinney & Nebeker. He specialized in commercial litigation, and served as chair of the firm's litigation section and as a member of the executive committee.
