Eligibility: Student Employment and Work Study

Eligibility for Student Employment

Eligibility for participation in the Student Employment Program includes the items listed under Eligibility for Federal Work Study, except a student does not have to be eligible for Federal Work Study funding. However, you are still encouraged to apply for Federal Work Study by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Eligibility for Federal Work Study Funded Positions

Establishing and maintaining eligibility for Federal Work Study funding requires the following:

  1. You have applied for needbased aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are awarded Federal Work Study.
  2. You enroll at least halftime at Westminster College (six or more credit hours each semester for undergraduate students). You will not be eligible to work if you drop below halftime enrollment during the semester.
  3. You maintain good academic standing. If you are placed on academic probation, your eligibility for employment will cease. You may submit a letter of appeal to the Financial Aid Office if there are extenuating circumstances.
  4. You have not graduated. Once you graduate, you are no longer eligible for student employment.
