New Student Orientation Programs
We are so thrilled that you have made this decision to join the Griffin Community! To help you adjust to life here at Westminster College, we have provided this website as a starting point in preparation for New Student Orientation. Below you will find a list of New Student Orientation Programs.
First Year Student Orientation is a four-day orientation program that assists new students with their academic, personal, social, and cultural transition into the Westminster and Salt Lake community. This program is geared toward students who have finished high school and are entering their first year of college. The program occurs prior to the start of class with a mix of fun and educational activities throughout campus. Please note that First Year Student Residential Move-In will occur on August 19, 2016 at 1 p.m.
The Parent and Family Orientation program is a one day program that assist parents and families in the adjustment of having a loved one at Westminster. The program supports and provides tools to ease the stress of transition for our students’ parents and families during an emotional time of their kids’ lives. Have a chance to find any answers to lingering questions on housing, financial aid, or how to send a great care package! This day will also give you a chance to meet other parents and families who also have children attending Westminster College and speak with faculty and staff on campus.
The Transfer Student Orientation program is geared to help students who have previously attended another college or university. Westminster College may be very different from your previous institution and we want you to feel comfortable as you transition to new experience. This one day program provides the foundation of what it means to be a Westminster student. You will have the opportunity to connect with campus partners and other transfer students. Please note that Transfer Student Residential Move-In will occur on August 22nd at noon.
The Spring Orientation program is a one day program for first year and transfer students. This program provides a quick nuts and bolts approach as your begin the Spring Semester. You will have access to and opportunities to chat with staff and faculty regarding your engagement on campus.
