MAT Elementary Program (Grades K-6)

Recommended Plan of Study for MAT Elementary Program (MATELED)

Students may begin the Elementary MAT program in the Summer or Fall semester.
We recommend that students consider completing the Elementary MAT program in four semesters.  Students who have few outside commitments and wish to take an accelerated schedule can complete the program in three semesters.  

Four-Semester Elementary MAT Program

Students on a four-semester plan who begin in the Summer take foundations courses in the Summer, methods courses in the Fall and Spring, and student teach in the following Fall semester. Students on a four-semester plan who begin in the Fall take foundations courses in the Fall, methods courses in the Spring and Fall, and then student teach in the following Spring semester. Students may meet with an advisor to develop a plan to complete the Elementary MAT in more than four semesters.
