Nursing Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Get Into the School of Nursing and Health Sciences?

Upon Acceptance to Westminster

  • School of Nursing Application Packets will be available online - please check the Admission Requirements page for specific dates
  • Students accepted to start fall semester will begin classes in August
  • Students accepted to start spring semester will begin classes in January

How Long is your Waiting List?

  • There is no waiting list. Students who are not accepted may apply the next year.

How Many Students Can You Accept?

  • 90 students annually (45 in fall semester and 45 in spring semester)

What do you look for in an applicant?

  • Strong cumulative GPA from all schools attended (minimum GPA of 2.80)
  • Strong GPA in prerequisites (minimum GPA of 2.80)
  • CNA, LPN/PN, MA, or EMT preparation
  • Compelling, well-written personal statement
  • Strong references
  • No documented criminal history
  • Negative drug screen results from an approved laboratory
