From the Dean

Welcome to the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business at Westminster College! We are one of only six business schools at a private liberal arts college in the Mountain West region and the only one of its kind in the Utah/Nevada/Idaho sub-region. Studying business at Westminster College is a very special experience. We train you for a rewarding and meaningful career in the world of commerce in an enriching liberal arts educational environment, where you enjoy small classes, hands-on learning, exceptionally effective and caring instructors, and plenty of mentoring and advising. Through Westminster’s pioneering WCore general education program, our outstanding faculty in the Gore school, our cutting-edge business curricula, and our location in Salt Lake City—one of the most vibrant and progressive business communities in the nation—you will get an exceptional business education here. We provide high-quality training in business methods and practices based on our core values of conscious capitalism, corporate social responsibility, and purpose-oriented enterprises. Our newly redesigned curriculum allows students to customize their education to match their own personal needs.

We offer nine undergraduate programs, two undergraduate minors, and four graduate programs, taught by nearly 35 full-time faculty and a team of highly qualified adjunct instructors. A relatively high proportion of our full-time faculty and most of our adjunct instructors have industry experience, so you will find our curricula and pedagogical approaches aligned with industry practices. We also have three centers of excellence: the Center for Innovative Cultures, the Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Center for Financial Analysis. Students have opportunities to get involved with those centers through their classes, research, and community engagement. Graduate students benefit from the convenience of evening courses taught in half-semester blocks, can choose between traditional and competency-based curricula, have exciting opportunities to work on transformative capstone projects, and can do an international study tour.

The Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, an organization that "recognizes higher education institutions for performance, integrity, and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community and the public." The school is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), an international professional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for its best practices.

I invite you to check out all our programs, faculty, centers, staff, community partners, and facilities. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have questions or need more information. I hope you will join us at the Gore school!
