Florence J. Gillmor Hall: An Artistic Legacy Continues

Westminster’s long history of excellence in the performing arts has entered an exciting new chapter. Florence J. Gillmor Hall, a 26,000 square-foot expansion of the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts and the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory, officially opened in September. The new facility adds state-of-the-art instruction, rehearsal, and performance spaces for students in Westminster’s music, dance, and
theatre programs.

The building’s namesake, Florence Gillmor (’38), was a talented musician who trained in piano and voice at Westminster. Throughout her life, Florence actively supported music education on campus. Her frequent and generous gifts were invaluable to the growth of the performing arts, including significant contributions that helped make Gillmor Hall possible.
