2021 Summer Camps

Many 2021 summer camps are moving online. Camp webpages will be updated as more information becomes available. Westminster College's main priority during the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be the health, safety, and wellness of camp participants, student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.

AWE+SUM Camp is back for 2021. This year, the camp will be entirely online and will feature virtual field trips, science workshops, and exciting hands-on activities. 

Dates: June 28–July 1, 2021, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Application Closes: May 15, 2021

Acceptance Notification: Starting on May 5, 2021

Westminster is dedicated to promoting women and diversity in science. AWE+SUM Camp is a unique day camp opportunity for female-identifying students currently in 7th or 8th grade to enjoy individualized, hands-on math and science labs and workshops. Activities support interest in the sciences and show students the variety of careers available in science fields.

Sample Workshops

  • Stars and distant galaxies: Learn how astronomers tell stars and galaxies apart.
  • Code Your Escape: Solve problems to move through virtual rooms by learning about women engineers, writing code, and the basic principles used by software engineers.
  • Brainy Brine Shrimp: Join Westminster scientists and students from the Great Salt Lake Institute to learn more about the millions of tons of brine shrimp in Great Salt Lake. You'll get your own shrimp with all the supplies to grow them at home.
