Community Engagement

We understand the importance of the community in our success and vice versa: Westminster College and the community can grow together toward our mutual goals and experience mutual prosperity. But to succeed in this endeavor, we must work together and keep each other informed on our plans. Learn more about our student consultant program.

Katherine W. Dumke Center for Civic Engagement facilitates volunteer opportunities, student-run service programs, service-learning, and other civic engagement activities for the Westminster Community. The Center is also responsible for directing Walkways to Westminster and the PROMISE South Salt Lake Initiative.

The Center for Innovative Learning offers a variety of online certificate and degree programs that are designed with the specific needs of working professionals in mind.

Westminster’s accounting students and faculty run a free tax clinic, offering tax-filing assistance and financial advocacy for individuals and families who might not otherwise have access.

Expect the Great is a free, one-day event focusing on college and career awareness and readiness for African, African-American, and Black students and communities in the state of Utah.

Hosted by the Office of Admissions, MOSAIC introduces high-achieving high school students of color to Westminster, creating connections with current Westminster students, alums, faculty, and staff. For more information, contact Quincey Malauulu or Rob Meyer.

AWE+SUM Camp is a four-day camp for girls entering eighth grade who are interested in science and math. The camp provides an opportunity for girls to experience a college campus, learn in hands-on math and science workshops, and make new friends during fun camp activities like swimming and hiking.

Westminster’s Clemente Course is an interdisciplinary, elective humanities course for sophomores at East High School who hope to be the first in their families to attend college.
