Westminster Alums Help Bring United Nations Conference to Utah
August 28, 2019
Madison Denkers and Mitch Dumke are examples of Westminster alums creating change. They were co-chairs for the United Nations Civil Society conference held in Salt Lake City this week. They helped bring the international event focused on building inclusive and sustainable cities to Utah–the first time it's been hosted in the U.S. outside UN headquarters in New York. Global leaders joined thousands in downtown Salt Lake City to work on affordable housing, transportation, green public spaces, and much more.
Mitch and Madison connected with current Westminster student Anisa Dahir at the conference. They also worked with fellow host youth committee co-chairs, Under Secretary General Alison Smale, and Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski.
