Westminster Climbs in National Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY – U.S. News recognized Westminster College as one of the best colleges in the U.S. for veterans, as a best college in the West and a best value school for 2020. Westminster ranked higher than last year in each category. The U.S. News rankings are the latest in many accolades for Westminster. The college was recently named among the top colleges in the nation by the Wall Street Journal and Princeton Review—citing student connections to faculty, well-rounded learning experiences and rigorous academics.   “These recognitions are a reflection of Westminster College’s focus on creating deep connections within our community and fostering meaningful relationships that challenge and inspire students to excel in their courses and beyond,” said Westminster College President Bethami Dobkin.

U.S. News 

Westminster jumped eight points in the regional category, increased four points for best for veterans and one point for best value. The college placed at 80 as top performers in social mobility, which measures how well schools graduate students who receive federal Pell Grants (those typically coming from households whose family incomes are less than $50,000 annually).This is the 25th year Westminster has been recognized in the U.S. News Best Colleges guide.  The Princeton Review 

Westminster College is one of “The Best 385 Colleges” in the Princeton Review’s 2020 edition. Westminster is named a “Best Western” college and a top “Green College” in the guidebook. The Princeton Review surveys 140,00 students at the nation’s top colleges, asking them to rate their school on dozens of topics important to them and their parents.

Wall Street Journal 

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2020 ranked Westminster 239—placing the college in the top third of colleges nationwide and 47th in the Western region. Westminster received high marks in student engagement (how students connect intellectually and socially on campus). The ranking praised Westminster for collaborative learning, student access to professors and rigorous academics that support critical thinking, development of new concepts and connections to the real world.
