Westminster Participates in the Great Utah Shake Out

Evacuation

April 20, 2018

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster College conducted an earthquake drill on April 19 in conjunction with the Great Utah Shake Out. The statewide exercise prepares organizations and families to survive and recover from an earthquake.

During the college’s drill – campus received messages to drop, cover and hold on. Faculty, staff and students evacuated to designated areas then helped test the capability of the college’s Emergency Notification System to account for the campus community.

College leadership responded to Westminster’s Emergency Operation System to practice emergency protocols in the event of a disaster. For more information on earthquake preparedness and survival, visit the Great Utah Shakeout webpage.
