About Hikmet Sidney Loe

Hikmet Sidney Loe teaches art history at Westminster College and frequently lectures on and writes about Land Art. Her extensive exploration of Robert Smithson’s earthwork the Spiral Jetty is forthcoming from Utah State University Press in a book titled The Spiral Jetty and Rozel Point: Rotating Through Time and Place. She is an independent interpreter for the Center for Land Use Interpretation, often touring Great Salt Lake with individuals and groups interested in experiencing the Spiral Jetty and Nancy Holt’s earthwork Sun Tunnels. Her photography of these earthworks has been featured at the Whitney Museum of American Art (Robert Smithson retrospective exhibition, 2005), and in the publications Nancy Holt: Sightlines (2011) and Land Art by Gilles A. Tiberghien (2012).
