Nov 15, 2012

Westminster College . Media Expert Alert Salt Lake City . Utah   WHO: Dr. Christine Seifert: Media Expert on the Twilight Saga, "Breaking Dawn," and Abstinence Porn. Available for press interviews.   TOPIC: Final Twilight Movie - Breaking Dawn Part II   BACKGROUND: The final installation of the Twilight Saga "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on Nov. 16, 2012. With less than two weeks away, audiences young and old have been eagerly anticipating the transformation of Bella into a vampire, the birth of Renesmee and the final showdown between the Cullens and the Volturi. "Now that Edward and Bella are married-with a human/vamp hybrid child-the focus of the narrative shifts away from teen abstinence toward adult family life," said Seifert. "At 19, Bella leaves behind her entire identity in order to assimilate into the Cullen clan, and her life is constantly in peril as a result. The final installment of the franchise reminds readers and viewers that marriage to Edward is the ultimate fulfillment for Bella, even though she has to give up everything-including her humanity-to achieve it."   MEDIA EXPERT BIO: Dr. Christine Seifert is an Associate Professor of Communication at Westminster. She rose to expert status on the Twilight series after her article, "Bite Me! (Or Don't)," which explored the sexiness of not having sex, was included in Best Sex Writing 2010. Seifert was previously featured on the NBC Nightly News and the Today show as an expert on "abstinence porn" when the "New Moon" Twilight film was released, and in USA Today when "Eclipse" premiered. Additionally, Seifert's first young adult novel, The Predicteds, was released in September of 2011.
