Office for Civil Rights Visit - Individual Meetings

Oct 26, 2015

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) will visit Westminster from November 3–5, 2015. The OCR is responsible for the investigation of complaints alleging violations of Title IX, which prohibits discrimination in educational programs and activities on the basis of sex.

The OCR is interested in hearing from a variety of Westminster community members including faculty, staff, and students. Westminster members can request a private meeting with an OCR representative by selecting an appointment notecard from the easel located in the Tower Reading Room in the Giovale Library (2nd floor, southeast corner). Notecards will include a specific date, time, and location to meet. Please arrive at the location at the appointed time and present the card to the OCR representative. Your attendance will only be known by the OCR.

The OCR will host 20-minute private meetings on the following dates and times:

  • Nov 3: 2–4:00 p.m.
  • Nov 4: 4–6:00 p.m.
  • Nov 5: 9–10:00 a.m.; 11–11:40 a.m.

If you have any questions, please contact Westminster’s Title IX Coordinator, Jason Schwartz-Johnson, at jsj@westminstercollege.edu.
