Westminster College is pleased to announce Julie Freestone as the college's new executive director of human resources. Freestone begins her new position October 1, 2014.
Freestone brings over 20 years of experience in human resources from non-profit, higher education, and healthcare organizations. She comes to Westminster from Sundance Institute where she was the director of human resources for 10 years.
"The college welcomes Julie to the Westminster community where every employee is a crucial part of creating a valuable and personalized educational experience for our students," said Dr. Brian Levin-Stankevich, president of Westminster College. "Westminster is repeatedly named one of the best colleges to work for by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Julie's expertise will surely contribute to the organizational culture we are continually improving at Westminster."
Prior to Sundance Institute, Freestone directed human resources and employment services at the University of Utah. At the U she successfully merged two departments into one cohesive team responsible for more than 18,000 employees. She has experience in implementing performance management systems and developing employee engagement plans.
Freestone studied economics at the University of Utah, where she also earned a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in human resources management. After many years of professional development, she received a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
