Westminster Offers Free Tax Preparation to Households Making Under $53,000

Three convenient ways to receive free tax preparation in South Salt Lake and Salt Lake City SALT LAKE CITY - The Westminster Pro Bono Tax Clinic offers free tax preparation and financial planning to qualifying households Feb. 2 - April 15, 2015. The service is open to households of any size making $53,000 or less per year. Submitted forms will be prepared by the Westminster Pro Bono Tax Clinic students who are IRS certified with advanced accounting education. The clinic is directed by Emily Rains, Westminster associate professor of accounting and tax attorney. Services are available by appointment, walk-in and drop-off. In addition to free preparation of state and federal taxes, the clinic also offers financial advocacy services using the Earn it! Keep it! Save it! tools. Spanish speaking tax preparers are also available. The Westminster Pro Bono Tax Clinic is funded by the Katherine W. Dumke Center for Civic Engagement at Westminster in partnership with CapUtah and Salt Lake County.
