Westminster Students Compete in the College's First-Ever Cupcake War

Celebrity bakers will judge student's innovative cupcake creations SALT LAKE CITY - With the clock ticking, celebrity judges will watch Westminster students battle for top baking honors in the college's first-ever Cupcake War on Dec. 5, 2012, at 8 p.m. in the Shaw Center. Teams of four students will beat, whip, and frost cupcake concoctions based on a surprise theme. Each team will create a recipe from a selection of typical flavors and one surprise ingredient. Hamburger cupcake anyone? Three renowned judges, faculty foodie Helen Hodgson, TV cook Chef Tom, and Mini's Cupcakes owner Leslie Fiet (Westminster Class of '96), will decide the competition. Mini's Cupcake owner Fiet knows first-hand the heat of competition. She recently won an episode of the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. In this college competition, Westminster teams will be judged on their creative use of the secret ingredient, taste and appearance. The winning team will receive a gift card to Mini's Cupcakes.
