Westminster Woman's Board Celebrates 100th Silver Tea in Grand Style

May 27, 2016

SALT LAKE CITY — The Westminster Woman’s Board welcomed more than 350 guests at their 100th Anniversary Silver Tea. The Behnken Field House was transformed into a magical tea garden for the historic event on May 14, 2016.

Attendees of all ages wore elaborate hats, gloves and fancy attire to the afternoon high tea. The first Silver Tea was held May 10, 1916. The Woman’s Board had just 25 members and they raised $33 at the tea for the college. The event quickly became the board’s most popular fundraising effort. The board now raises more than $40,000 each year to support student scholarships.

“The centennial celebration was such a delightful time. It was a true salute to the friendships formed over the years through our shared commitment to education and love of Westminster,” said Renée Strand, Westminster Woman’s Board member.
