Westminster's Review Magazine Goes Digital with New Website

Oct 23, 2015

Oct. 23, 2015 Westminster College's award-winning alumni magazine now has its own dedicated site SALT LAKE CITY - For readers of Westminster College's award-winning alumni magazine, the Review, the option to read articles online and seamlessly share stories, photos and links via social media is now a reality thanks to the creation of the magazine's first-ever website. To celebrate the launch of the website, the Review's editorial team hosted a "carnival-style" event that coincided with Westminster's presidential inauguration and festivities on September 26. Complete with fortune tellers, acrobats, celebrity meet-and-greets, face painting, strong man competitors, and other games, the carnival showcased the website to the Westminster community. Review Carnival Party"We wanted to host an event that represented the dynamic stories we tell about our incredible Westminster community in the Review," said Autumn Thatcher, director of publications and managing editor of the Review magazine. "The Review tells the stories of Griffins who are doing extraordinary things. Our hope is that the website will drive more readers to these stories to learn just how remarkable Westminster alumni, faculty and students truly are."   Previous to the website, stories were published twice a year in the print edition of the magazine-in the fall and spring. With the creation of the new website, the editorial staff now has the ability to publish content online throughout the year on issues that are important to alumni and the college. Magazine readers can also pitch story ideas and sign up to receive the Review in print. Westminster Office of Integrated Marketing and Communicaitons "Debuting the Review online was a great effort by the entire editorial team and our web designer, David Luhr." said Thatcher. "We wanted to provide a beautiful space that visually drives the content produced in each publication. Perhaps best of all, each article has its own link that can be shared on social media platforms, through text messaging and email."
