National Girls and Women in Sports Day and Recreation Clinic

Westminster College celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day by hosting an annual Sports and Recreation Clinic for girls ages 6–14, sponsored by the Fitness, Wellness, and Recreation Department and the Westminster College Athletics Department.

The 10th annual clinic will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 2–5:30 p.m. in the Dolores Doré Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center.

Registration

Play, believe, achieve! We are making an effort to get as many girls active as possible. No skills are required, and all levels are encouraged to participate.

Registration will open on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.

Register

The registration fee is $10 per participant, which includes a t-shirt and water bottle for the first 220 girls who register. Scholarships are available and we will make ability adaptations as needed in any of the scheduled sports/activities.

When you register you will choose three activities for each session, listed in order of preference. Every effort will be made to accommodate your top choice in each session, however, we cannot guarantee placement. Some sports/activities are not able to accommodate as many girls as others and will fill up quickly. Register early to help guarantee preferred placement.

What to Expect the Day of the Clinic

Please arrive at 2:00 p.m. for check-in.

Check-in and drop-off will be the on the west side of the Dolores Doré Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center (HWAC). You will want to enter campus from 1700 South and turn south on 1200 East. At the stop sign go straight and park underneath the elevated playing field. You will see the entrance to HWAC on your left as you are driving to the parking garage. View the campus map.

When the girls check in they will get two name tags—one for their water bottle and one for their shirt. One of their name tags will also have their three activities listed. Due to the number of participants, it is not possible to notify everyone ahead of time which activities they received.

After checking in, girls will gather on the main court and go as a group to their activities. After the third activity they will pick up their certificate and get their snacks. Please be here by 5:30 p.m. to pick up your daughter.

Tennis shoes and appropriate athletic attire is recommended. If the weather is nice, some of the activities may take place outside, otherwise everything will be held indoors. If one of your daughter's choices was swimming or kayaking, a swimsuit and towel is required.
