Graduate Scholarships


Westminster is committed to making your graduate education accessible and affordable. Each semester or year, depending on the specific scholarship, Westminster provides students valuable financial assistance. Fall scholarship applications are due by August 1, spring scholarship applications are due by December 15, and summer scholarship applications are due by May 1. Refer to the scholarship-specific information below to locate the applicable application deadline for your scholarship of interest.

To apply, simply submit the appropriate essay to the graduate admissions Drop Box before the specified deadline. Be sure to begin by clearly identifying yourself, the scholarship you are applying for, and the semester for which you want to apply the scholarship. Scholarship Details

Westminster BS, BA, BBA, and BFA alums will be eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship for both the 2018 summer and fall terms, valued up to $6,000 for your program.*

Westminster graduate programs that qualify for the Alums Scholarship:

* The scholarship will be awarded in $1,000 disbursements for up to six consecutive semesters. Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester (four for MBA summer term). Scholarships cannot be combined with any other institutional grant, scholarship, or discount including tuition match and the accelerated PMBA program for BBA grads. Total awards, including external funds, may not exceed full tuition.

Scholarship Details

Westminster will offer a limited number of MBA scholarships* to new incoming students who demonstrate strong leadership abilities or potential. The strength of a candidate's application will also be taken into consideration. Leadership scholarships up to $5,000 will be awarded to incoming students each semester.

Qualifying graduate programs include:

Master of Business Administration
MBA in Technology Commercialization
Project-based MBA (online)

Submission Details

Students interested in applying for this scholarship need to submit a one-page essay specifically addressing the following:

  1. Describe an example of a time when you demonstrated leadership and how it made a difference in either your company or your community.
  2. How would receiving the Westminster MBA Leadership Scholarship impact you?

* The scholarship will be divided and awarded in your first two semesters. Students must be enrolled half-time (four credits) to be eligible to receive the award. If you do not enroll in the semester the scholarship is awarded for, it will be forfeited. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other institutional grant, scholarship, or discount including the accelerated PMBA program for BBA grads. Total awards, including external funds, may not exceed full tuition.

Scholarship Details

These $2,500–$4,000 scholarships support and reward students who are pursuing graduate studies in accounting* that qualify them to sit for the CPA exam. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and distributed over two semesters. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in or accepted into Westminster's Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program or MBA/Accounting Certificate program
  • Intend to sit for the CPA examination
  • Have strong past academic performance as evidenced by graduate or undergraduate GPA
  • Participate in extracurricular activities that promote preparation for careers in professional accounting
  • Show a financial need for assistance

* Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester for two consecutive semesters to remain eligible. Scholarship Details

Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded each year to students who are pursuing their Master of Business Administration program at Westminster and have demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and distributed over two semesters. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in or accepted into Westminster’s Master of Business Administration program
  • Strong past academic performance as evidenced by graduate or undergraduate GPA

Scholarship Details
The Change Maker Scholarship is now available to an incoming student each academic year enrolling in the Master of Arts in Community Leadership program. This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who is pursuing their MACL degree at Westminster and has demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and distributed over three semesters. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  • Enrolled in or accepted into Westminster’s Master of Arts in Community Leadership program
  • Strong past academic performance as evidenced by graduate or undergraduate GPA

Students interested in applying for this scholarship need to submit a one-page essay specifically addressing the following:

  1. How do you see yourself changing your community five years from now?

* Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of four credit hours per semester for three consecutive semesters to remain eligible. If you do not enroll in the semester the scholarship is awarded for, it will be forfeited. Total awards, including external award funds, may not exceed full tuition.

Scholarship Details

The Simmons Scholarship is available to new students enrolling in one of Westminster's competency-based (online) programs beginning.* A limited number of $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in two $2,500 disbursements over two consecutive semesters.
