Alumni and Donor Update from the President

March 31, 2020

Dear Westminster community,

I hope this message finds you and your family safe, well, and successfully navigating the many challenges you are encountering during this uncertain time.

Westminster is more than home to our current students, more than a collection of workspaces, and more than a community-gathering place.

Westminster is a home for all of us—during all phases of our lives—and especially during difficult, confusing, and anxious times such as these.

I know we will emerge stronger and more resilient because of our diverse and inclusive community of donors, alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students who seek to make a collective and positive impact on our campus and the world.

Your loyalty and commitment to our mission and the students we serve is inspiring, and I appreciate the many kind words I’ve received in support of our efforts over the past few weeks.

You may be aware that we will complete the spring semester and May Term through remote instruction provided by our outstanding and resourceful faculty. For seniors and graduate students, the completion of their final term at Westminster will be very different from what they anticipated, but rest assured, we plan on celebrating their commencement with pride and fanfare before the summer is over. I invite you to follow Westminster’s response to the COVID-19 crisis on our coronavirus webpage as we prioritize the health and safety of our community and coordinate the functions needed to ensure our students’ academic progress continues.

Our advancement and alumni relations office are poised to provide new ways of virtual engagement and opportunities to remain connected with you. Stay tuned, connect with us on Facebook, and update your preferred email address to keep current with all Westminster happenings.

Many have asked about ways to provide direct support to our students during this crisis. You can visit Westminster's coronavirus giving webpage to see how our community is responding.

I invite you to share your thoughts via email ( on ways we can inform, partner, and engage with you in the coming months. Thank you for your courage, patience, and continued support.

Beth Dobkin, PhD
