Coronavirus Update for Staff
March 12, 2020
In follow-up to Beth’s message this morning, I am writing with additional information specifically for staff. As stated in Beth’s message, the college remains open. While we will not see business as usual for at least the next two weeks, it’s important that we remain fully operational and responsive to shifting priorities in each of our functional areas.
Cabinet members are working with supervisors now to determine priorities and make necessary adjustments to process and operations.
Except for situations where staff are required to remain off campus due to potential exposure to COVID-19, all staff should continue to report to work as scheduled. Instructions for reporting travel and other situations of potential exposure are posted on the coronavirus webpage.
There may be some circumstances where staff are not able to continue their regular work schedule. At this time, we are approving remote work on an as-needed basis only. Guidelines for staff to request approval to work remotely are also posted on the coronavirus webpage. The IS department is prioritizing instructional needs of faculty and students; please be aware that their capacity to provide staff support may be limited.
Staff identified as essential personnel may be asked to adjust their work schedule or work additional hours.
Student employees may continue to work as they would have been scheduled when classes are in session, up to 20 hours per week.
Please contact your direct supervisor with any questions. Supervisors should work with their cabinet member for further guidance as needed.
Please continue refer to the information and ongoing updates on the coronavirus webpage. Cabinet members will share additional information as circumstances evolve. Staff play an important role in supporting students and our campus community and one of the best ways we can do so right now is to remain available, patient and flexible.
Thanks to everyone for your commitment and support.
