From the President: Virtual Open Forum for Students
April 9, 2020
You are undoubtedly juggling many things right now. In addition to the sudden shift to remote instruction, there are probably many additional changes to your lives and disruptions since COVID-19. You are possibly taking care of family members, navigating employment changes, rationing food and supplies, and separated from loved ones while you try to anticipate the future. I hope that you are staying healthy and safe.
We’ve sent multiple messages over the few past weeks regarding decisions we’ve had to make in consultation and coordination not only with our own community members, but with numerous external agencies (e.g., CDC, Utah Health Department). At the same time, we pride ourselves on personal connections and responsiveness to our students.
Toward that end, I’d like to invite you to a virtual open forum next Tuesday, April 14, from 4-5:00 p.m. via MS Teams. Although I don’t anticipate any major announcements at that time (we will continue to use email and social media), the forum will give you a chance to share experiences, concerns, and successes, and to ask any questions you think I might be able to answer. You will need to use your Westminster email address for access, and please do not share the meeting login information as this session is intended for our students only. We'll send that login information via email next week.
I welcome the use of the chat function for this session, but I’d also encourage you to use video and audio if you can. We have so few opportunities to see one another right now that I’d appreciate the virtual connection.
