Westminster’s Accounting program will help you master all the necessary skills that will allow you to pursue the areas of business that you are passionate about. Through case studies, small class sizes, and opportunities for real-world experience, you will leave Westminster prepared for any path you choose to take in your career or graduate school.
Get Involved
Accounting Club
The Accounting Club promotes a better understanding of the accounting profession by sponsoring guest speakers from the accounting industry and organizing networking and social events. Through these functions, you are able to network with professionals, peers, and Westminster faculty. The club also encourages you to give back to the community by participating in service projects hosted throughout the academic year. Westminster Tax Clinic
You are encouraged to participate in the Westminster Tax Clinic to gain professional experience while serving your community. This Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides assistance to low-to-moderate income families, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. If you have questions or are interested in getting involved with the clinic, email Jovana Sisovic (jsisovic@westminsteru.edu).

Research Guide
If you need help with research for any of your courses, Giovale Library has a business research guide. There, you will find information that will assist you in finding background information, books, films, articles, and data, as well as resources that will help you cite your sources.
Student Perspective
Sam Steffensen
To Sam Steffensen, the best part of the Accounting program is the size. Small class sizes allow Sam to get to know other students and faculty better so they can work together effectively. Sam focuses on auditing and will pursue an internship where a faculty member will be serving as her director. During free time, Sam also gets involved on campus and in the community by participating in the Accounting Club, serving as a Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants ambassador, and supporting Westminster artists through purchasing their work at ceramics sales.
Dylan Moya
Dylan Moya finds value in the Accounting program’s faculty—professors always put students first and are always willing to answer a question or lend a hand when you are in need, creating a more engaging atmosphere. In their spare time, Dylan likes to take advantage of Westminster’s Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center or hang out in the Shaw Student Center.
Alumni Success
Christina Tergevorkian
After graduating from Westminster, Christina Tergevorkian (’17) completed a master’s degree in accounting with an audit emphasis in 2018 at the University of Utah and became a certified public accountant. Now, she is a senior associate at Berkeley Research Group, LLC working in the Disputes and Investigations Division where she performs forensic accounting services and works in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
