The Engineering Program at Westminster University
Westminster’s 3–2 Engineering program allows students to prepare for a career in the field of engineering while exploring broader interests in a liberal arts setting.
You’ll begin your education at Westminster in a supportive environment designed to help you get the most out of your 3 years here. Then, you’ll complete your studies at one of Westminster's partner schools, the University of Southern California or Washington University in St. Louis.
Students in this program are encouraged to meet with the 3+2 program advisor at Westminster University during their first year to ensure you meet of all the requirements for the engineering field you're interested in and to learn about the coursework that will be required during your 2 years at another institution.
Who the Engineering Program Is For
Westminster's Engineering program is designed for students who want to enhance and broaden their undergraduate education as a prelude to the focused work of engineering school, developing creative problem-solving and strong critical-thinking skills before taking on technical classes.
What You'll Learn in the Engineering Program
Westminster's Engineering program offers "learning communities" that couple courses like math and biology and utilize group-based, hands-on learning. Moreover, students often develop close nurturing relationships with faculty and their peers at Westminster that might not happen at a larger school.

Plan of Study
You will attend Westminster for approximately 3 years and then transfer to one of the partner universities for an additional 2 years of study under the dual degree program. When you successfully complete the requirements for this program, you will earn 2 degrees:
- A Bachelor of Science or Arts majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics. (You may pursue other majors, but it may take you longer than 5 years to complete the 2 degrees)
- A Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from either the University of Southern California or Washington University in St. Louis.
In order to transfer, you must maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA, meet the specific requirements of the partner university, and earn the recommendation of your program advisor.
