  • About Shamby Polychronis, PhD

    Shamby Polychronis is an Associate Professor in the Special Education program at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah and serves as the Director of Special Education and Undergraduate Programs.  She has experience teaching students with severe disabilities in post-high programs with an emphasis on community-based education. Dr. Polychronis has served on multiple grant projects, co-authored several articles and textbooks, and presented at state and national conferences. Her scholarly interests include secondary education, individual rights for people with disabilities, post-school outcomes for students with disabilities, family support services, and teacher education.  Professional service includes Utah CEC President (2014-present), Faculty Chair (2012-13), and Faculty Senator (2013-present).
