Melanie Agnew has been successful in extensive leadership roles over the past 20 years. She is past president of an American Association for Colleges of Teacher Education state chapters in Wisconsin and Utah, selected as network leader for leading internationalization knowledge community with NAFSA, selected as board member with Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy, and has served in higher education for over 20 years.
Agnew has published, consulted, and presented extensively in areas of education, leadership, organizational development and change, and global learning. Dr. Agnew has been invited to keynote, blog, provide written and in-person testimonials, and deliver workshops at state, national and international levels. The aim of her work is to help individuals, teams, and organizations through personal and collective changes that are most important to them.
At Westminster College, Agnew serves as dean for the school of education, collaborates on many campus-level strategic initiatives. She teaches in areas of leadership, conflict, and change, organizational development, and the interplay between higher education and globalization. She received her doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and her master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin. She is married with three children and has dual citizenship in Canada and the United States.
