About

Dr. Katie Christensen (she/her/hers) is a Nationally Certified Counselor and works as a North Carolina Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. Her clinical experience includes individuals, couples, and families navigating a variety of concerns: grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, substance abuse, weight-related issues, foster care, trauma, and autism. Her research focuses on issues related to grief and loss, weight-bias in counseling, and counselor education and supervision. She has been teaching and supervising new counselors since 2018. Outside of counseling, she enjoys hiking, exploring new restaurants, and traveling and has a goal to visit all 7 continents.
