About

Kalani Eggington has been at Westminster's School of Education since 2013. She received her B.S. in Biology Composite Teaching with an emphasis in Microbiology from Brigham Young University. After teaching middle school science for 7 years she became interested in exploring different ways teacher professional development experiences could be improved. This led to her pursuing an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Teacher Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While attending UW-Madison, Kalani also completed a Graduate Certificate in Mentoring New Teachers. She then received a PhD in Science Education from The University of Queensland, Australia. Her doctoral work focused on the effects that teacher-scientist collaborations have on participating teachers. Kalani greatly enjoys teaching at Westminster College. She teaches courses that address science methods, instructional strategies for English Language Learners, and qualitative research methods. Kalani is also the program director for the undergraduate and MAT elementary education programs. Please feel free to contact her with any questions about these programs.
