Incoming first-year students who wish to apply to the Honors program should typically have a minimum 26 ACT (or SAT equivalent). While the average ACT score of recent entering Honors classes is around 30, it is much more important that students have a strong academic preparation in high school, an attraction to the distinctive learning approach in Honors, and a deep desire to take advantage of the many opportunities that the program offers.
While interviews are not required of applicants, we strongly encourage prospective students to visit campus, attend an Honors seminar, and meet with the director of Honors. Please contact Wes Yarborough, Honors Recruiter, at email@example.com and he will set up your visit.

Transfer students into honors (lateral entry)
There are a limited number of spots in Honors available for current Westminster students and transfer students from other institutions through the lateral entry program. Accepted students take four Honors seminars ("Welcome to Thinking III" and three others from a menu of seminar options) and earn an Honors Certficate. Deadlines are March 1 (for current Westminster students) and May 1 (for transfer students from other institutions).
Applications consist of the following materials, emailed by the deadline to the Honors director at firstname.lastname@example.org
Transfer applicants must be accepted to Westminster College before being considered for Honors. Transfer applicants from other institutions are also eligible for a $5,000 Honors Lateral Entry Academic Excellence Scholarship.
