From the Provost: Updated Utah COVID-19 Guidelines - June 2, 2020

June 2, 2020

Governor Herbert signed a new executive order on May 27 that updated the COVID-19 guidelines. This is the first time that higher education has been provided explicit guidelines. This new guidelines state that classes should be limited to remote learning while we remain in the orange phase and can transition to in person when we move to yellow.

All of our undergraduate classes are already remote for the summer and most of our graduate courses are remote as well. Some small graduate classes have been running face-to-face in accordance with prior guidelines that detailed expectations for group meeting sizes and social distancing. At the start of these classes, students, and faculty were alerted and prepared to anticipate changes in modality as the local situation and guidelines might change.

Out of the utmost concern for the health and safety of our students and faculty, we will transition all courses to remote while we remain in the orange phase.
