Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Student Paid Emergency Leave

Students employed in on-campus student employment who are unable to work (either on campus or remotely) due to a COVID-19 qualified circumstance may apply for paid emergency leave. Students are eligible for up to 2 weeks of their regularly scheduled hours (a maximum of 40 hours). Students should submit 1 form for all positions affected by the leave request. View the Request for Paid Emergency Leave Form to learn more about qualified circumstances and to complete the form. Once complete, give the form to your supervisor. The form has to be submitted to student employment by your supervisor. Forms submitted by student employees will not be accepted.

Remote Work for Student Employees

Some student employees are allowed to work remotely. Discuss if you are eligible for remote work with your supervisor. If your supervisor agrees that you can work remotely, complete a Temporary Remote Work Agreement and submit it to your supervisor for approval. Your supervisor should send the signed agreement to Student Employment at studentemployment@westminstercollege.edu prior to you starting remote work. If you cannot do your work remotely, you can continue to work on campus while following the guidelines for being on campus. Students eligible for Federal Work Study will be given priority for campus job openings. To find out if you qualify for the Federal Work Study Program please contact the Financial Aid Office at 801.832.2500.

Find a Student Job

  1. Find a list of open positions on the Student Job Board
  2. Submit an Application
    • Submit a current resume and Student Employment Application to the hiring manager indicated on the job posting
    • Work with the Career Center if you need help creating a resume
  3. Interview
  4. Complete New Hire Paperwork & Student Employment Orientation
    • If you are offered the position, you are required to fill out an I-9 form, W-4 form (below), and Direct Deposit before your start date. You must also provide a form of acceptable ID (original documentation required, no photo copies).
    • New employees must access and complete the Student Employee Orientation Canvas Course within 30 days of employment. Read the instructions below on how to access and complete the Student Employee Orientation.

Working While at Westminster
