The Center for Civic Engagement debuted as Westminster’s Volunteer Center in 1999 and expanded with the college’s growing desire to improve our community. In 2015, Katherine W. “Kay” Dumke blessed our center with the means to continue expanding our commitment. Kay devoted her life to making the Salt Lake community a better place. In honor of her legacy, we named our program the Katherine W. Dumke Center for Civic Engagement. Ever since, our center has reached over 13,000 students through our programming and conducted nearly 500,000 hours of service. Our Carnegie Classification in Community Engagement and President’s Honor Roll of Community Engagement awards reflect Westminster’s academic commitment to shaping conscious citizens.
