New Student Orientation

Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Schedules for the 2021 orientation experiences are being adjusted to ensure that appropriate safety measures are being followed while still delivering a high-impact experience. Refer to campus COVID-19 information for full details about campus precautions related to COVID-19.

Westminster College is thrilled you decided to join the Griffin community! To help you adjust to life at Westminster, there are orientation experiences for first-year and transfer students, as well as events that will help you get to know and be involved in your new community. New Student Orientation is a mandatory program for all new students entering the fall semester. There is also an in-person orientation experience for parents and family to prepare for supporting you in your new adventure.

2021 Orientation Experiences

The First-Year Student Experience is an in-person orientation program designed to help first-year students with their academic, personal, social, and cultural transition into the Westminster and Salt Lake City communities. This program is geared toward first-year students and happens before the start of fall classes. The program includes a mix of engaging and educational activities, on campus and online.

Program Registration

Students who register for classes through a Griffin GearUp program are automatically registered for the First-Year Student Experience. However, first-year students will receive an email in late July verifying student information needed for the program (i.e., dietary restrictions, t-shirt size).
