Submissions

The Myriad accepts original work from current undergraduate Westminster students in all academic programs. Submissions range from research essays to creative writing pieces. Co-authored works with professors are acceptable. You may submit more than 1 piece. Each genre has specific guidelines.

Genre Guidelines


Research Essays

Each research essay submission should be between 2500-8500 words, however, exceptional work that falls outside this range can be considered. Research essays should be submitted as a Word document. If you have citations, you must use either APA, MLA, or Chicago style according to its respective style guide.

Fiction

All narrative styles and forms of fiction are accepted. Each fiction submission should be between 2500-8500 words, however, exceptional work that falls outside this range can be considered. Fiction pieces should be submitted as a Word document.

Creative Nonfiction

All narrative styles and forms of creative non-fiction are accepted. Each creative non-fiction submission should be between 2500-8500 words, however, exceptional work that falls outside this range can be considered. Creative non-fiction pieces should be submitted as a Word document. If you have citations, you must use either APA, MLA, or Chicago style according to its respective style guide.

Poetry

All narrative styles and forms of poetry are accepted. You may submit up to 3 poems. Poetry pieces should be submitted as a Word document.

Visual Art

Visual art should be limited to 3 pieces.
