About Bill Ogilvie
I began teaching Human Factors in Flight as a flight instructor and flight safety specialist in the US Air Force. After retiring from the military I moved into the collegiate flight education as a flight and academic instructor at Utah Valley University where I taught Human Factors/Crew Resource Management, International Flight Operations, Airplane Systems, Commercial Operations, and Flight Instructor Ground. In Fall 2005 I moved to Westminster College to join the Aviation Department Faculty. I continue to follow my dreams of flying and teaching others my passion.
My interest in flying goes as far back as when my father put a swing set in our back yard. I earned my Private Pilot Certificate the summer I graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City. I continued working on my flying credentials while I completed my BS Degree in Police Science at Weber State College, in Ogden, Utah. As my flying career continued I obtained An Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with type ratings in Lear Jets, Boeing 737 and a L-382(C-130). I found I enjoy teaching so I invested in a Flight Instructor Certificate for Single Engine Airplane, Multi Engine Airplane and Instrument Airplane. As a good teacher is always learning I am still persuing new knowledge, I completed my Fight Instructor Glider rating in November 2010.
