Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Director of Student International Services, this person will—
·        Assist students with study abroad applications, including explaining the transfer credit process and demonstrating how to search for classes at foreign universities
·        Advise students on how study abroad can fit into their overall degree program
·        Help promote study abroad opportunities by planning information meetings and presentations, assisting with organization of the May Term and Study Abroad fairs, hosting information tables in Shaw, and scheduling classroom presentations
·        Research study abroad scholarship opportunities and deadlines and update the study abroad website regularly
·        Advise students about May Term Study Experience options and manage May Term Study Experience registration forms
·        Contribute to Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientations and Study Abroad Re-entry Workshops
·        Other duties as assigned within the Diversity & International Center
Required Qualifications
·        Experience on a May Term Study Experience, study abroad program or other international experience
·        Knowledge of Microsoft programs, especially Excel, Word, and Publisher (or other design software such as InDesign)
·        Familiarity with undergraduate degrees, LE requirements, and transfer credit process
·        Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate the importance of study abroad in the context of Westminster College’s Learning Goals
Preferred Qualifications
·        Familiarity with educational systems outside the U.S.
·        At least 21 years old with a valid U.S. driving license and willingness to get certified and drive Westminster College vans for activities
Hours and Wage:15-20 hours per week during the academic year (Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm), occasional weekends or evenings, $8.00 per hour.
